The Governor of Abia State performed the launch at about 3.00pm and the cutting of the inauguration cake followed shortly after. Prior to the launch, the PMU Team Leader (represented by by Mrs Tammie Kammonoke), the Abia DMU State Team Leader, the Executive Secretary Abia State Planning Commission, and the State Governor presented addresses in that order. A vote thanks was later given by the Commissioner for Poverty Reduction and Cooperatives, Chief Amanze Israel. The event came to an end at about 4:05pm. Tea break and lunch was provided at the occasion. The huge turn- out at the launch could be attributed to the wide publicity which the team had been according the MPP9 program in the State through the radio and print media. As would be expected the Abia State launch was aired on local television and radio programs for days. The national network news of radio Nigeria also aired the event.
