The Financing agreement was signed in 2007 between EC and FGN for 45.5 million Euros (approximately 9.1 Billion Naira)

• Projects will be funded on the basis of 25% community contribution, 25% LGA contribution and 50% European Development Fund (EDF) grant. Community and or LGA contributions may be in cash, kind or services.

• For the Integrated Community Development Pilot Programme in Etung, funding will be on the basis of 10% from Community, 30% from LGA and 60% from EDF grant. 

Typical Community Contributions in cash/kind

• Manual Labour like transport of materials, land clearing, digging, levelling of sites etc

• Materials like land, sand, gravel, wood etc

• Cash (levies, donations by  community members, local fund raisings) 

Typical LGA Contributions

• Mobilization of the technical capacities and skills of Local Government Departments

• Recruitment of  trained staff for Health centres and schools

• Standard quality installations of water and sanitation facilities, access roads to projects sites, health centre equipment, standard school furniture etc.

• Works supervision for quality assurance
