Development of the prototype designs was carried out from November, 2009 to March 2010 by the PMU and LMU Engineers with the collaboration of DMU Engineers and process was as follows;

•    Request and collection of State standards from all states through DMU Engineers

•    Collection of MPP 6 standard designs

•    Development of sketches for presentation and discussions with stakeholders in all states by the DMU Engineers.

•    Collation of inputs and comments of Stakeholders

MPP9 will implement the following types of projects:

• School block (extension of existing school block)

• Water supply (boreholes, treatment plants etc)

• Sanitation (different types of sanitation facilities)

• Health post and improved maternity services

• Income generation (Post harvest processing, gardening, aquaculture and fish processing etc)

• Markets stalls and market extensions

• Rural access roads and transports (improvements of bridges, culverts, jetties, boat services etc.)

• Innovative and unusual projects like solar powered school internet laboratories, waste management and recycling etc
